Beginning in 2024, Ponant and The Explorers Club will have a new series of expeditions focusing on scientific research and exploration. Five select voyages will feature Explorers Club scientists aboard Le Commandant Charcot, the world’s only luxury icebreaker and the only passenger ship to host scientists aboard while providing dedicated research laboratories, science coordination and equipment.
With 13 ships and more than 400 departures annually, PONANT sails to all seven continents including the Arctic and Antarctic. The first of five applications is now open for Explorers Club scientists to join a half-circumnavigation of Antarctica, with a deadline of April 7th.

The purpose of these expeditions is to advance scientific research while encouraging conversations of conservation as travelers explore new frontiers in search of discovery and a more sustainable future.
With the mission of “Explore to Inspire” and 35 years of experience in leading expeditions, these new programs are sure to ignite inspiration while cultivating breakthroughs in preservation and conservation.
