The Explorers Club Annual Holiday Party
Thursday, December 11th, 6:00 PM At Club Headquarters
The Explorers Club and The House Committee cordially invite members and their guests to our year-end Holiday Party on Thursday, December 11th. Enjoy the festive holiday spirit in our beautiful Headquarters building which is decorated for the season. Socialize with old friends…meet new friends…sing holiday songs…drink eggnog…or plan your next expedition. Cocktails and dinner will be served. Several door prizes will be given out to the winning tickets. Edward Lovett’s much in demand a cappella singers, “Figgy Puddynge” will make their legendary appearance later in the evening.
Enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres featuring Peking duck rolls, bruleed brie and fig on crostini, vegan sushi (avocado, asparagus and/or cucumber) and shrimp cocktail. A delicious dinner will follow with a carving station with Wagyu roast beef, au jus sauce on a burner and horseradish sauce. The Roast Beef main course for this year’s dinner is 100% Wagyu raised at Lone Mountain Ranch in New Mexico from the DNA of the world’s greatest tasting beef-certified Japanese Wagyu beef. We hope that every bite will be a feast for your senses, from the famous buttery marbling to its one-of-a-kind taste. Side dishes will include Yorkshire pudding popovers, baked potatoes with sour cream and chives and green beans with garlic and herbs sauteed in olive oil. A vegetarian offering will include roasted winter vegetables, butternut squash and Brussel sprouts. A green salad with gem lettuce and watercress, thinly sliced hearts of palm with a champaign vinaigrette will also be served.
Dessert: Assorted Various Pies (Apple, Pumpkin & Pecan) served with Whipped Cream & Berries Christmas Cookies, Brownies, and Holiday Candy.
