Join The Explorers Club on Thursday, February 22nd for the exclusive New York City premiere of Out There: A National Parks Story, a feature-length documentary following a 10,000 mile road trip through the U.S. national parks to tell the stories of the incredible people within them.

This is an evening celebrating national parks, generational stewardship, and an ode to the open road. After an award-winning film festival run, filmmaker Brendan Hall and educator Anthony Blake present a special screening of their film, honoring the unlikely explorers who have emerged to preserve and share the stories of our public lands. In their post-film discussion Hall will bridge past and future, as he reflects on his journey of filmmaking in the national parks that culminated in the opportunity of a lifetime: his selection as a crew member of the dearMoon civilian lunar space mission to orbit the moon.

In the documentary, a young filmmaker sets out on a 10,000-mile exploration of the national parks with his childhood friend during the centennial year of the formation of the National Park Service. Along the way, they share experiences of the people that work in the parks and those that come to enjoy them, as part of the rich tapestry of the history of the park system emerges. They hear profound stories from people of all ages and walks of life who have come to the parks seeking tranquility, healing, motivation, and connection to the natural world. This stunning road trip film is a tribute to the national parks and their history, and is also a recognition of the people that appreciate them and work to preserve their beauty.

This event will include a screening of the 75-minute film, followed by a discussion with filmmakers Brendan Hall and Anthony Blake, and a musical performance from the film’s score composed and performed by Elizabeth P.W. and a live band.
