It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Glenn Allen Yachechak, known affectionately as “The Yach”. He passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026, just two months shy of his 82nd birthday.

Glenn was a Jersey boy who grew up in Paramus, graduated from Rutgers University, and settled in Hackensack. He served his country as lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force, serving in every conflict from Vietnam to Desert Storm.

Glenn was a corporate pilot who traveled the globe, and later shared his expertise as a flight instructor for Flight Safety International. He was also an avid golfer, explorer, and free diver, notably securing the Guinness World Record for the largest striped bass caught free diving. Glenn’s free diving earned him membership in the prestigious Explorers Club, where he was a distinguished member for 30 years. Most importantly, he was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone he met.

Glenn is predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Lucy. He is lovingly remembered by his family, Dennis, Suzanne, Alexis, Amanda, Keith, Olivia, Mia and Amelia, as well as his friends.
