Friday’s events will commence with the Inauguration of The Society of Forgotten Explorers, where we will be honoring the achievements of Ootah, Egingwah, Seegloo, and Ooqueah – the Four Inughuit Hunters on the Peary-Henson Expedition of 1909.
With remarks from Navarana Kavivak, descendant of Ootah, and Aviaq Henson, great-granddaughter of Matthew Henson, this ceremony will shed a much-deserved light on the stories of the four extraordinary explorers who underpinned one of the greatest feats in exploration history.
A light breakfast will be available starting at 8:15 am.
