Dispatches from the Field, a new digital program designed to bring The Explorers Club community closer—wherever you are.
Each session kicks off with a 15-20-minute talk from a Featured Speaker, recorded and posted later to the public on explorers.org and our YouTube channel.
This will be followed by Campfire sessions—intimate, Members-Only breakout groups where you can connect, share ideas, and build relationships.
This edition features Andrés Ruzo, TEC President Barbara Doran, President Emeritus Richard Wiese, and more to present live from Peru’s Boiling River.
The Boiling River of the Amazon is one of the most spectacular ecosystems on Earth. Up to 100-feet wide, 15-feet deep, flowing for over four miles, and capable of reaching temperatures over 200°F– this extreme and sacred ecosystem is the site of ongoing research projects bringing insights into geology, biodiversity, and more. A team of Explorers Club members, led by EC50 honoree Andrés Ruzo, will call in from the banks of the river, deep in the Amazonian jungle, for this special edition of Dispatches from the Field.
