This edition features Duda Menegassi, EC50 2025, to present Storytelling in Times of Climate and Biodiversity Crisis:
One of the biggest challenges as a reporter is to make people care about your stories. When it comes to climate change and biodiversity loss, this can be even harder. Duda Menegassi seeks out stories with the power to break through. In her most recent piece, she traveled deep into the heart of the Amazon to follow a researcher studying a small monkey species that exists only in Brazil. This monkey may face extinction within 30 years, as the flooded forests it depends on are being transformed by the global climate crisis. Duda made this monkey the central character of her story—where climate change and biodiversity loss collide, not in the future, but right here, right now.
