The Silent Extinction of Giraffe

Giraffe have been called “The Forgotten Megafauna”, despite being an icon of Africa, surprisingly little is known about giraffe, but what is known is that they have declined by 40% over the past 30 years, and three of the four species are classified endangered or worse. In this talk we will explore the reasons for giraffe’s stunning decline, and what is being done to try to save them in the wild, including an unusual rescue.
