Carrying the theme, "Digging into the Past to Benefit the Future", the awards dinner was presented by the President, Directors, and Officers of The Explorers Club, and Rolex Watch USA Inc.

Honorary president James Fowler and Explorers Club president Richard Wiese hosted this evening of discovery, inspiration, and exquisite cuisine, within the sumptuous surroundings of Sotheby's New York. Paleontologist Ross MacPhee was on hand to co-present the awards to five distinguished explorers, who spoke about their research and what their findings mean for the future.

Senior Vice President and Provost of Science, and Curator of Paleontology, at the American Museum of Natural History
