Exploring Legends with Soyuz Astronaut Greg Olsen

Event open to:

Public

Date:

May 01, 2013

Time:

6:00 p.m. Reception, 7:00 p.m. Interview

Location:

NYC Headquarters, 46 E70th Street, NY, NY, 10021

Description:

Greg Olsen, the founder of Sensors Unlimited, spent $20 million of his own money to fly on a Soyuz rocket to the International Space Station for a week. He was the third space tourist, behind Dennis Tito and Mark Shuttleworth.

Olsen will tell interviewer Jim Clash how he trained in Russia for the flight, what the experience was like and his views on the U.S. relying on Soyuz rockets now to ferry its own astronauts to ISS until a Shuttle replacement is built. Olsen will also be asked if he is willing to put up $63 million to go again - over triple what he paid in 2005. (Talk about inflation!)
