Call To All Artists!

The Explorers Club is proud to announce a new round of its “Artist-in-Exploration” program – generously underwritten by Rolex Watch USA – and is now accepting applications from members and non-members alike.

This program is a rare opportunity to receive funding for art created while working in the field. Submitted proposals are limited to artwork that falls within the traditional definition of Fine Art, which includes painting, sculpture, architecture, music, poetry, and photography. Film and video will not be considered in this program at this time.

A $25,000 award will be given to one artist or proposal, as selected by the Artist-in-Exploration Review Committee. Applications must be completed in full as per instructions on the application form and received by 5:00pm EST on November 30, 2014.

Please fill out your application, save it to your computer, then email the newly saved version back to us with “Artist-In-Exploration Program 2015” in the subject line. Artist Reception - Tuesday, October 14th

The first annual artist reception for the Explorers Club Artist-in-Exploration program, sponsored by Rolex, will be held in the Trophy Room at club headquarters in New York on October 14, 2014 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. 2013 Artist-in-Exploration Rebecca Reeve will show a selection of photographs from Cuba’s pristine Alejandro de Humboldt National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Jardines de la Reina marine reserve, the largest protected marine sanctuary in the Carribbean.

Admission is free for Club Members and the general public.
